This November, just before the countdown to Christmas began, I spent the weekend creating at Selfridges London as a Live Event Artist!
The Saturday was spent in the Selfridges VIP Lounge creating hand painted colourful Christmas baubles. VIP members could personalise this item by selecting colour combinations to match their own home decor, before sipping on champagne whilst I carefully painted each bauble with delicacy.
The overall aesthetic of the baubles reflected the eclectic and maximalist Selfridges Christmas window displays that bejewelled Oxford Street and created by fellow London creatives such as Charles Jeffery Loverboy and Andrew Logan. The theme this year was 'The more the merrier!'. That is something that definitely resonates with my use of colours and textures!
On the Sunday, I had the pleasure of illustrating bespoke Christmas cards celebrating the hand-drawn and collaged element of my work. The cards used bespoke papers that I had design and printed, alongside offcuts of ribbons from the previous bauble day. My designs are instinctive and not pre-planned which always results in an exciting design that is full of life and creativity. Each card was hand-made and personalised for each member.
